The Sioux Signature Series Rivet Shaver is designed to keep the skirt face parallel to the working surface, which in turn, also keeps the cutting bit parallel to the surface. This avoids the possibility of accidentally cutting into the aircraft's skin when shaving rivets flush to the surface, or countersinking holes for flush riveting. Additionally, the spring loaded stablizer feet permit the operator to aggressively feed the cutter while keeping the tool firmly under control.
