The basic horizontal cleco pliers have been around for generations, has always required input from the user to open it further, which is inefficient and uncomfortable.

A skin wedge is the tool to use when you need to pry and jog sheet metal skins. Just slip the thin curved blade into the gap and slide it along the edge to gently separate the edges without gouging the skin.
