The Numatx alligator squeezer works differently than a regular pneumatic squeezer because it delivers constant force through the full stroke of the tool, meaning that you can set different lengths of rivets without stopping to change settings. The hand unit is lightweight and easily manipulated, unlike the bulky regular pneumatic squeezers. The foot pedal makes it easy to "tease" the ram into position without "snapping" the ram closed.
Numatx patented pneudraulic riveting system sets a new standard in aerospace and industrial compression riveting. Numatx riveters offer great ergonomic advantages in comparison to air only powered compression riveters. They are smaller, lighter, quieter and more versatile for ease of operator use.
Hy-Tech proudly manufactures the Numatx line of riveters in the U.S.A. The units are built from high quality aircraft grade materials, with parts made on CNC machining centers and features held to close tolerances, for years of dependable operation. Customers such as Delta Airlines, Honda Aircraft and Northrop Grumman value the ergonomic advantages which lower operator fatigue and Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs).
The Numatx Compression Riveter System is composed of two primary components: 1) The Hand-held Riveting Head, and 2) The Pressure Intensifier. These primary components are separated by a flexible hydraulic hose, which supplies hydraulic fluid under pressure from the Pressure Intensifier to the Riveting head.
Numatx currently offers two different types of Riveting heads: 1) Alligator and 2) C-Squeezer. Alligator heads are characterized by generally longer reach jaws which swing thru a slight arc. C-Squeezers are characterized by C-shaped yokes which can be interchanged into the C-Squeezer unit with bolts or quick pins. C-squeezers have a compression pin which moves in a linear direction to the rivet to be squeezed.
Numatx Compression Riveters offer three distinct advantages over traditional air only riveters:
1. The riveter head (handheld portion) is up to 50% lighter. Less weight = less fatigue.
2. The riveter head is up to 50% smaller. Smaller = greater access to confined areas.
3. The riveters feature constant force over the entire stroke range = less setup time.
The Riveters accept industry standard rivet dies with 3/16" shanks, and for C-squeezers accept standard CP214 C-yokes. The Systems run off shop air pressure of 80 - 90psi, supplied to the pressure intensifier.
